One of the stated objectives in the resolution establishing the University of the Philippines (UPOU) is to provide opportunities for alternative access to quality higher education by offering baccalaureate and post baccalaureate degree programs as well as non-formal courses by distance education. The development and delivery of non-formal courses in UPOU aim to institutionalize a system of continuing education to sustain professional growth and promote life-long learning especially for those who cannot leave their jobs or homes for full-time studies.
